Experience The Excitement of Off-Road Auto Racing

If you feel bored with "tame" environment of popular racing competitions such as the paved roads of NASCAR, maybe you're destined to become an off road Auto racer instead. Here are several basic facts about off road Auto racing to enlighten you a bit more regarding your future calling.

History of Off Road Auto Racing As long as a race does not make use of paved road conditions and a specified track, it can easily qualify as an off road Auto racing event. Off road racing events may then be held at deserts or at temporary off road tracks assembled inside huge stadiums, and may even involve hill climbing.

In off road racing, different types of specially modified vehicles are used to compete against each other. The first racing event that introduced this type of competition is the famous Baja 1000 of SCORE International in 1967, then called the Mexican 1000 and sanctioned by the National Off-Road Racing Association. Other popular off-racing events in the United Sates are the Crandon International Off-Road Raceway of CORR and the stadium races held by the Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group.

In Europe, three terms in particular are used when referring to off road racing events: auto cross or rally cross are used to described off road events held in man-made tracks while desert races and the likes are called cross-country rallies.

you're under 18 because of the inherent dangers of off road Auto racing.

An off road Auto racing team is generally made up of a driver and navigator. Both must obtain proper racing licenses prior to joining any official racing event. They must also be insured according to the requirements of whichever league they're interested in being a part of. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age while navigators must at least be 14 years old to be allowed to compete.

Uniform - Off Auto racers must comply with the uniform requirements for the competition. This includes but may not be limited to a schedule D helmet, non-flammable outfit that covers the entire body from throat down, appropriate footwear, and goggles.

Costs - If you develop a passion for off road racing advenure, you should be prepared to spend a considerable amount of money to make sure that none of the other racers get to enjoy a competitive advantage simply because they have better modified cars and equipment. Expect to pay an entry fee as well for each competition you enter to.

Dos and Don'ts for Off Road Auto Racing Events

Make sure that you test your vehicle at least three days prior to the event to ensure that it's in good working order and for you to have adequate time to make any modification or repair that you deem necessary.

Always arrive at the scheduled date and place for the event at least thirty minutes before the given time the race will start. Be sure to attend the briefing for each event even if you already know the rules by heart.

Lastly, be courteous to the drivers around you. It's always better to become a driver that's respected by all on and off the track.
