Car constructors and their drivers are a mix of nationalities, all competing for the coveted World Championship. An F1 season consists of a series of Gran Prix races, held in different parts of the world.

Europe is Formula One's traditional home, playing host to many of it's most famous Gran Prix events. Some of the most famous Gran Prix include the Spanish Grand Prix held on the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain which the Spaniard and youngest ever wold champion Fernando Alonso recently won. The German Gran Prix in Hockenheimring is the home race of F1 driving icon and 7 time World Champion Michael Schumacher.

Formula one is not only limited to Europe. F1 has staged Gran Prix in South American Countries, including Argentina and Brazil.

F1 is also quite prominent in Asia, with Gran Prix being held in countries like China and Malaysia. The most notable is the Japanese Gran Prix, which is traditionally the last race of the season.

The American Grand Prix is currently being held at the renowned Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is also the home of the famed Indianapolis 500-mile race.

However, Formula One isn't the only type of auto racing. Touring Car Racing is another popular form, particularly in Australia, Germany, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland, where some of the biggest competitions are held.

In the U.S. Stock Car Racing and it's primary series NASCAR is the most dominant racing form, with races drawing huge crowds. The most notable race in the series is the Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Rallying is an exciting form of racing that can take place on various landscapes and terrain. Some of the most well known rallies are conducted in such exotic locales as Monte Carlo in Monaco, Ireland, Italy, Finland, Wales, and Argentina among others.

Le Mans, France hosts the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most illustrious sports car endurance race in the world. This grueling 24 hour long marathon is held on the non-permanent Circuit de la Sarthe, which mostly consists of roads that are otherwise open to the public. The 24 Hours of Le Mans has also spawned a series of support races in Europe and America.

All around the world, people go crazy for speed. The various racing events attract huge crowds of racing fanatics. No matter what a part of the world, chances are there's a couple of racing cars just around the corner, waiting to start their engines.
