Touring car racing is one of the most popular sports in the United States. In fact, more and more Americans are beginning to appreciate the fun of touring and this adds to the collective audience of this wonderful sports.

History

This type of road racing dates back to 1894 when car manufacturers started producing autos that are powered by petrol fuels. The first contest was first organized by Le Petit Journal, a Paris magazine from France.

The contest, as it is today, was organized to verify the level of performance of the car that was produced before it will be manufactured on a larger scale. In 1895, France held the first ever touring contest.

The race started from Paris to Bordeaux, a city that lie south-west of the country. The same year set the stage for an International Competition. This international touring game was also held in France with James Gordon Bennett, Jr as its principal sponsor.

James Gordon Bennett, Jr. is the famous proprietor of the New York Herald, a large scale production newspaper report in New York City, USA. The first car motor racing competition in the United States was held on the 2nd day of November in the same year with Frank Duryea which emerged as the winner.

Since the inception of the sport in 1895 in the United States, touring car motor racing has started gaining fanatic audiences and gained International recognition as a popular sport.

A racing automobile can travel as fast as 240 mph. Perhaps, touring sport has been so far, one of the most expensive car racing sport of all time for it requires a large commercial financial expenditure.

Cars are monitored round the clock during the game and maintained according to the set of instructions required for each car. The United States Auto Club (USAC) of 1911 has been one of the most prestigious touring organization in the world. It has organized a large tournament in 1911 with Monaco, Great Britain (United Kingdom), Australia, Canada and the United States as its participants.

The States Auto Club (USAC) has been very active in the field of car racing sport from the early 1900 and continues until the early 2000. The Indy Racing League (IRL) of Indianapolis draws large spectators and is one of the unique sports with biggest audience and one among the most expensive in terms of admission fees.

People who are interested in car racing are very much aware of the National Association for Stock Car Automobile Racing (NASCAR) event. NASCAR displays cars produced by different car manufacturers to test their engine endurance and performance during extreme situations.

The competition is part of the national agenda on improving the type of cars that are manufactured a year by each car manufacturers. The installation of this type of game is encouraging all car manufacturing agencies on creating hybrid and futuristic cars and improve the way cars are able to use fuels and increase their driving efficiency.
